Liberia has a population of over 5 million, and less than 100 total physicians to help them all.

The Foundation for Restoring Women’s Healthcare to Liberia
Barrels of Love was founded in 2021 and is an ongoing fundraising effort that supports The Foundation for Restoring Women’s Healthcare to Liberia—also known as Healthy Women, Healthy Liberia (HWHL)—a nonprofit committed to improving women’s healthcare in the country of Liberia.
SERVICES
Campaign Logo Design, Marketing
The Barrels of Love campaign is directly partnered with the foundation’s co-founder and medical director, Dr. Christiana Hena, to raise donations of medical supplies, women’s necessities, and financial support for the Liberian clinics. They needed a lovingly crafted logo for branding and marketing efforts to unify the many participating organizations.
Crafted With Care
The name “Barrels of Love” refers to the actual barrels used to contain and deliver the donations. Embracing the hands-on concept of the campaign led to an exploration of hand-drawn typography and a detailed graphic. The stylized barrel is layered with texture and overlaid with the custom type. Photo styling was also established based on the minimalistic color palette.
These easy-to-use guides became the leading design used throughout the campaign for videos, ads, and partnered social media content.
Filled With Purpose
The fundraising effort involves interactively filling 55-gallon barrels with needed items. This includes medical equipment, medicines, clothing, children’s books, school curriculum, and more. Monetary donations are also accepted through an online giving portal.
With the rebranded campaign’s impact that year, the foundation served over 87,900 patients (a 52% increase from the previous year).
“This ministry to those in need simply wouldn’t be possible without your support.”
